Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Backend Engineering: Develop, maintain, and optimize robust backend applications using Python and Django.
• Data Handling: Manage and structure data across SQL and NoSQL systems to support scalable application growth.
• System Architecture: Work closely with technical leadership to architect backend components with long-term reliability in mind.
• Team Enablement: Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and help elevate overall team capability.
• Quality Assurance: Perform in-depth code reviews and enforce engineering standards across the backend codebase.
• Performance & Security: Improve system throughput, reliability, and security, ensuring smooth operation under high load.
• Cross-Team Alignment: Collaborate with Frontend, QA, Product, and DevOps teams to deliver cohesive features.
• Production Support: Diagnose and resolve backend problems quickly to ensure stable uptime.
• Technical Innovation: Contribute to exploration of new backend tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of backend engineering experience with Python and Django.
• Strong command of SQL and NoSQL data stores and their performance trade-offs.
• Demonstrated experience in designing maintainable backend architecture and optimizing large-scale systems.
• Practical experience deploying and managing applications in AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to guide junior engineers.
• Hands-on experience with production incidents and ensuring high service availability.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
