Description:
As a Scheduling and Intake Coordinator, you will play a critical role in coordinating care for patients, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling processes, and supporting clinical staff. You will work closely with clinicians, caregivers, and administrative personnel to provide a seamless experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Scheduling: Review patient referrals to coordinate and facilitate the scheduling of services, including Start of Care (SOC) and follow-up appointments with clinical staff.
- Documentation Management: Assist in completing and organizing necessary documents for patient intake and scheduling.
- Insurance Verification: Conduct insurance verification and authorization processes to ensure compliance and eligibility.
- Record Keeping: Accurately file and code patient information for efficient record-keeping and compliance with Medicare guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with medical receptionists and other team members to ensure seamless patient scheduling and services.
- Kinnser Utilization: Use the Kinnser system for data entry, scheduling updates, and retrieving patient information.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Scheduling Coordinator or similar role within a healthcare or home health/hospice setting is required.
- Strong familiarity with Medicare guidelines, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to review clinical documentation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Knowledge of scheduling systems; experience with Kinnser is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with patients, caregivers, and internal staff.
- Ability to work in a remote, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
