Research Assistant

Description:

You are the outreach engine. Your job is to find the right PhD supervisors for our clients and get them to respond. That means searching grant databases, reading recent publications, identifying active researchers, evaluating fit, and crafting personalized outreach emails that professors actually reply to.

This is not data entry. This is not copy-paste research. You will be reading academic papers, understanding funding landscapes, mapping research alignment, and building strategic shortlists that give each client the best possible chance of landing a supervisor.

Who This Is For

You have a research background and understand how academic research works. You can read a professor's recent publications and quickly understand their research direction. You are meticulous, fast, accurate, and can work independently. You care about outcomes because every shortlist you build affects a real person's future.

Who This Is NOT For

You need step-by-step instructions for every task. You are not comfortable navigating academic databases, Google Scholar, or university websites. You are not detail-oriented.

Requirements

Must have:

• Master's degree (MPhil, MS, or equivalent) in any research-oriented field
• Completed a research thesis or dissertation
• Strong understanding of academic publishing, journal rankings, and research methodology
• Proficiency in Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Scopus, and university faculty pages
• Excellent written English
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and systematic data tracking

Strongly preferred:

• Experience with professor outreach or academic networking
• Published research (journal or conference)
• Familiarity with PhD application processes in Australia, UK, Germany, Canada, or USA
• Experience with AI research tools (Claude, Perplexity, Semantic Scholar, or similar)
