Quality Controller

Department: Quality Assurance / Production
Location: Factory / Production Unit
Reports To: QA Manager / Production Manager

Job Summary

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that knitted garments meet required quality standards at all stages of production. The role requires hands-on inspection experience and a strong understanding of buyer expectations, preferably gained through work with buying agencies or third-party inspection houses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fabric, in-line, end-line, and final inspections for knitted garments

  • Ensure compliance with buyer specifications, tech packs, and approved samples

  • Apply AQL standards and international quality requirements during inspections

  • Inspect fabric GSM, shrinkage, color fastness, and overall fabric quality

  • Check garment measurements, stitching, seams, trims, labels, and finishing

  • Identify quality defects and coordinate corrective actions with production teams

  • Prepare inspection reports, defect analysis, and quality documentation

  • Liaise with production, merchandising, and QA teams to resolve quality issues

  • Support continuous improvement to reduce rework, rejection, and wastage

  • Ensure adherence to factory quality, safety, and compliance procedures

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of knitted fabrics and garment construction

  • Practical understanding of AQL, buyer audits, and inspection protocols

  • Familiarity with quality expectations of international buying agencies and inspection firms

  • Excellent defect identification and reporting skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset

  • Effective communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to work under tight production timelines

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Textile / Garment Technology (preferred)

  • 2–5 years experience in quality control for knitted garments

  • Prior experience with buying agencies or third-party inspection houses is highly preferred

  • Exposure to export markets (EU / USA) will be an advantage

  • May require extended hours during peak production or inspection schedules
