Quality Assurance Engineer

 

Description:

As a QA Engineer you can expect your day-to-day responsibilities at different levels to include understanding of the following:

• Work as part of a team to deliver features across the technical solution with focus being on testing secure, reliable and scalable products.

• Designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions

• Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics

• Conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

• The ability to understand and analyze technical documentation, and have an awareness of quality requirements for software development projects

• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities

• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools

• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

• Liaise with developers and product managers to identify system requirements

• Track the life cycle of errors

• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

• Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint, and iterative development activities

• Task updating to lead and Higher management

Essential Qualification

• Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience/certification.

• An ability to understand and analyze testing data.

• Must be a resourceful, proactive, self-starter, able to work alone and as a team player in a dynamic environment and with a strong attention to detail.

• Solid understanding of QA methodology and practices, within SDLC

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualification

• An ability to understand and create both positive and negative tests.

• Automation knowledge would be an asset

• Working knowledge of Agile methods Kanban and SCRUM

• Good understanding of Selenium or Apache JMeter

• Experience with MS SQL

Experience calling APIs/Using Postman/Soap user interfaces

• Ability to read/understand XML and JSON

Experience

• For Mid 2+ years of application development experience

• For Senior 3 years above
