Are you a backend engineer who loves building scalable services that power intelligent products? Alethea AI Labs is hiring a Python/Backend Engineer to ship APIs, integrate models, and optimize performance for AI and Web3 experiences used by communities.

Alethea AI Labs is leading the Agentic AI movement across industries. Through partnerships with Solana Mobile, AWS, OpenSea, and many more, we’re building the foundation for decentralized AI. These collaborations have enabled us to launch the world’s first intelligent NFTs (iNFTs), expand our AI capabilities, and bring on-chain AI agents to mobile.

As our Python/Backend Engineer, you will design APIs, manage data flows, and ensure reliability under load. We need a pragmatic coder who writes tests, instruments systems, and collaborates with frontend and AI teams to deliver performance.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain high-performance REST or GraphQL services and real-time channels
• Model data, write efficient queries, and manage migrations across SQL and NoSQL stores
• Implement security, authentication, and data protection best practices
• Turn business requirements into clean, testable components and APIs
• Containerize services with Docker and contribute to CI and CD workflows
• Profile, monitor, and optimize services for throughput and reliability
• Integrate external systems such as queues, payments, web3 event listeners, and notifications

Must-Have

• 5 to 6 years professional Python experience with strong Django or FastAPI expertise
• Hands-on work with event-driven architectures, pub sub systems, and real-time communication using WebSockets or socket notifications
• Proven use of AI dev tools like Cursor, Factory.ai, or Copilot to speed delivery
• Prompt engineering skills for crafting, iterating, and evaluating LLM prompts and outputs
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, ORMs, and database integration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar)
• Comfort with Git, Linux, Docker, and collaborative code reviews
• Strong debugging and performance tuning abilities plus clear communication
