Description:
We are looking for an experienced Upwork Bidder and Proposal Specialist to identify relevant software development projects on Upwork and submit high-quality, customised proposals on behalf of DeWelope. This is a quality-over-quantity role — we expect targeted, well-researched proposals that speak directly to the client's problem, not mass-submission.
You will work closely with the CEO and technical team. DeWelope provides the Upwork account and Connects budget.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Search and identify relevant software development, IT, and tech consultancy projects on Upwork that match DeWelope's capabilities.
- Analyse project descriptions, client requirements, budgets, and scope to determine fit before bidding.
- Write personalised, well-structured proposals that address the client's specific problem and position DeWelope's relevant experience.
- Coordinate with the technical team when project scope requires technical input before submission.
- Manage follow-up messages with interested clients and hand off qualified leads to the CEO.
- Track proposal activity, response rates, and conversion metrics; report weekly and refine strategy based on results.
- Target 5–10 high-fit proposals per week. Volume without quality is not acceptable.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on Upwork bidding experience, specifically for software development or IT services projects.
- Demonstrated ability to write proposals that get responses — we will ask for examples.
- Strong understanding of the Upwork platform: how the algorithm works, how to read client history, how to identify genuine vs low-quality postings.
- Ability to understand technical project requirements well enough to propose a credible solution — you do not need to be a developer, but you need to follow a technical brief.
- Strong written English — proposals must be professional and free of template language.
- Self-directed and able to meet weekly targets with minimal supervision.
- Available during US business hours (EST or PST) for client follow-ups and proposal timing.
