Project Manager For Training And Development

 

Description:

DEMO & TechValley seeks an experienced Project Manager (PMP Certified) to join our team on a full-time contract basis to manage a provincial scale program for our client, government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The role will be based in Islamabad or Peshawar and the contract will run for 8 months from August 2020 – June 2021, with the potential for renewal, dependent on client needs.

The programs broadly cover the areas of:

1. Capacity building for women on digital employability skills

2. Digital Skills Training for Youth

3. Connecting youth especially women with employment opportunities

The successful candidate will need to combine strategic-thinking and a hands-on approach to execute on high-impact, scalable ideas, programs and events. The candidate will have experience of project management and execution, government and other stakeholder engagement, and experience in developing and/or delivering capacity building or training initiatives. The candidate's skill-set should include the ability to work remotely and independently, but also be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams in different geographies.

This position reports to the Project Director within DEMO & General Manager within TechValley. Travel will be required regularly between Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in managing training and capacity building development projects in Pakistan
  • PMP or Prince Il certification
  • Experience in cross-sector partnerships, program delivery and / or project management
  • Exceptional written and oral communication in English & Urdu. Pashto is optional.
  • Good cross-functional and project management skills with experience managing multiple high priority projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience working with all levels of seniority and ability to build successful relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Bachelor's Degree in policy, public admin, communications, project management, marketing or relevant field;
  • Experience coordinating communications activities, events or training and the development of marketing materials a benefit

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, the client and the donor to ensure flawless execution of the project
  • Ensure that all program activities are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and financial feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability, assignment and allocation to relevant geographies
  • Constantly track project progress and inform all relevant stakeholders
  • Measure project performance and delivery using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Be the key point of contact for project coordinators, facility manager and lead trainers
  • Develop relationships with internal & external stakeholders to support programs strategy;
  • Work closely with DEMO & TechValley senior leadership team to ensure government engagement and satisfaction throughout the project delivery
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation for reporting
