Description:
The Pre-Sales Odoo Functional Consultant will work closely with the Business Development, Technical, and Implementation teams to understand client requirements, design tailored ERP solutions, and deliver compelling pre-sales presentations and demonstrations. This role demands a strong understanding of Odoo’s functional capabilities, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in end-to-end client engagement — from needs assessment to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective clients to understand business objectives, challenges, and process requirements.
- Conduct discovery sessions, requirement-gathering meetings, and process analysis to identify suitable Odoo solutions.
- Prepare and deliver customized Odoo demonstrations, showcasing relevant modules and workflows that address client pain points.
- Collaborate with the sales team to prepare proposals, functional documentation, and scope-of-work (SOW) for client approval.
- Map client business processes to Odoo functionalities and recommend configuration or minor customizations to achieve desired results.
- Develop project plans, functional blueprints, and detailed system requirement documents for handover to implementation teams.
- Support bid responses, RFPs, and client presentations, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial clarity.
- Serve as the functional bridge between the sales, technical, and implementation teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in implementation phases, validating functional setup, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and supporting go-live activities.
- Maintain continuous client communication and provide feedback loops to refine proposals and improve future pre-sales engagements.
- Stay updated with Odoo’s latest releases, modules, and business trends to deliver best-practice recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Odoo Functional Consultant with strong involvement in pre-sales, implementation, and client delivery.
- Proven expertise in conducting live demos, preparing functional proposals, and finalizing project scope documents.
- In-depth understanding of Odoo modules such as Sales, CRM, Inventory, Accounting, HR, Project, Manufacturing, and Purchase.
- Strong business process analysis and requirement-mapping skills.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) for client meetings, demos, and documentation.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business benefits for non-technical clients.
- Experience working with both Odoo Community and Enterprise editions.
- Knowledge of RFP/RFQ preparation, estimation, and solution pitching.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in preparing functional documentation, process flow diagrams, and user manuals.
