Description:
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing the payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, and maintaining compliance with local regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of Pakistan's labor laws, taxation, and payroll systems. The Payroll Officer will work closely with HR and finance teams to support payroll-related activities and provide excellent service to employees.
What You Will Do
- Payroll Processing: Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for employees in Pakistan, ensuring accurate salary calculations, statutory compliance, and timely disbursements. Conduct monthly payroll reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain integration between payroll, HRIS, and finance systems for consistent and efficient data flow.
- Payroll Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports to support management and finance teams in decision-making and compliance. Assist with internal and external audits by providing timely and well-documented payroll data, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Continuous Improvement Responsibilities: Regularly review and optimize payroll processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for automation or system enhancements and support their implementation. Analyze payroll data to detect trends, discrepancies, or issues, and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, taxation, and benefits. Provide timely, accurate, and helpful assistance to ensure employee concerns are addressed effectively and professionally.
- Compliance Responsibilities: Ensure all payroll operations comply with Pakistan’s labor laws and tax regulations, including the Payment of Wages Act, Income Tax Ordinance, and Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Act. Oversee equity payroll administration, ensuring timely reporting, accurate tax filings, and adherence to statutory requirements.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree (HR, Finance, or related field).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in payroll management.
- In-depth knowledge of Pakistan's labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll systems.
- Familiarity with payroll softwares (Timetrax, SAP, Workday preferred) and Microsoft Excel
