Acting as the critical bridge between external partners, the Motive Billing and Finance teams, and Motive Partnerships teams, this role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payments and invoicing across various partner programs, including Insurance, Strategic, Franchise, and Networks.
In this role, you will be a key individual contributor responsible for managing accurate and timely coordination with our partners. You will play a pivotal part in maintaining the financial health of our partnerships by forecasting, managing Purchase Order (PO) requisitions, and overseeing end-to-end approval processes to ensure seamless execution.
What You'll Do
Billing & Invoicing Execution
- End-to-End Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely payments to, and invoices from, diverse Partner programs (Insurance, Strategic, Franchises, and Networks).
- PO Management & Forecasting: Manage and forecast Purchase Order (PO) requisitions, driving the approval processes to ensure compliance and prevent payment delays.
- Partner Coordination: Act as the primary financial liaison, taking responsibility for accurate and timely coordination with external partners to resolve billing inquiries and ensure alignment.
Data Stewardship
- System Integrity & Querying: Write and execute SQL queries on Snowflake to properly maintain and steward Partnerships-related charges originating from Finance, Product, and Quote to Cash tables in Google Sheets.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with the Partnerships Operations Manager to maintain the accuracy of this data and ensure reliable reporting.
Payout Logic & Tracking
- Partner Onboarding: Collaborate with the Partnerships Operations Manager to financially onboard new partners into the Motive ecosystem across key tools.
- Financial Frameworks: Define payout logic and maintain active trackers to ensure transparent and accurate revenue shares and payouts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 4-6 years of professional experience in Operations, Business Administration, Partnerships, or a related analytical field. Experience in Billing, Finance Operations, Partner Operations, or Accounts Payable/Receivable is highly preferred, but not required if you possess strong operational and analytical fundamentals.
- Intellectual Curiosity / Tinkerer: This role should be willing to learn new skills and tools to drive continuous improvement. Experience in, or a strong willingness to learn, SQL and new AI tools is required. You will need to write and execute basic queries to manage datasets across different business systems. (Note: SQL training can be provided if needed).
- Own Outcomes: You have a strong sense of accountability for both individual and team goals. You clearly communicate, consistently deliver your best work, take responsibility when you fall short, and proactively speak up when you need help.
- Process Ownership: You are highly organized, self-sufficient, and comfortable managing complex PO requisitions, forecasting, and cross-departmental approval workflows with minimal hand-holding.
- Solid Judgement: You are highly autonomous and capable of making sound decisions independently. You know how to effectively navigate ambiguity, leveraging existing policies and precedents to guide your actions, while recognizing exactly when to proactively seek guidance or escalate complex issues.
- Partnership Fluency: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You understand how to translate operational or financial requirements into clear action items for external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong capability in data stewardship, tracking complex logic, and utilizing tools (like Google Sheets/Excel) to maintain accuracy across various business processes.
