Description:
The Operations Director ILMpact is a critical role with the British Council responsible for client management and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and client expectations on the ILMpact project. You will oversee the successful delivery of the project and maintain strong relationships with the British High Commission.
Your responsibilities include risk and crisis management, ensuring compliance with budgetary and financial standards, as well as managing audits and maintaining documentation and internal controls for the project. You will also ensure the alignment of the programme with the British Council's organizational goals and policies.
The role requires someone with extensive experience in donor management, strong financial literacy, and experience in risk management for large-scale programmes. The project will focus on areas like South Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management: Maintain a strong working relationship with the British High Commission and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with budgetary and financial standards; manage financial reporting and auditing processes.
Risk & Crisis Management: Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring project objectives and beneficiary needs are safeguarded.
Reporting & Audits: Lead and manage project audits and ensure transparency in financial management.
Staffing: Oversee the recruitment of roles within the project team and ensure the project adheres to the MoU.
Qualifications & Experience:
Significant experience working with the British High Commission.
High-level experience managing large-scale, donor-funded projects.
Demonstrable donor management skills.
Strong financial literacy, capable of interrogating financial reports.
Experience managing client audits and risk management for large-scale projects in South Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Understanding of British Council policies for donor-funded projects.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until September 2027
Contract Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
Pay Band: 9-D
