Description:
Be part of a team of NOC monitoring engineers ensuring that wi-tribe countrywide network health is proactively monitored, system & network alarms/faults are timely reported to concerned field and L2/L3 support teams and outage intimations are communicated to customer support and management.
Accountabilities of the job:
- Perform all day-to-day network monitoring activities at the Network Operation Center (NOC) for rapid recovery of network faults, outages and performance issues.
- Proactively monitor network platforms and applicable systems in order to identify potential anomalies/performance issues and perform appropriate corrective measures, via demand or scheduled maintenance actions.
Regular duties:
- Perform all day-to-day network monitoring activities at the Network Operation Center (NOC) for rapid recovery of network faults, outages and performance issues.
- Proactively monitor network platforms and applicable systems in order to identify potential anomalies/performance issues and perform appropriate corrective measures, via demand or scheduled maintenance actions.
- Coordinate and/or implement emergency restoration activities in outage situations.
- Interact with Core Network Operations, Field Operations, LDI Support and RF Teams to facilitate isolation and repair of faults in the network within established baseline objectives.
- Keep customer care/contact center and management informed on outages/issues/planned activities, update on efforts aimed at restoration of outages and performance issues.
- Initiation and effective management of Trouble Tickets (TT) through to closure, paying close attention to the SLA requirements and capturing all relevant details for future reference on the TT system.
- Generate and analyze the incident reports and discuss with problem analyst to fix /reduce the incidents and problems.
- Track planned work to ensure start & stop times is adhered to.
- Ensure the upkeep and continuous improvement of the Monitoring Solution.

Knowledge and competencies:
- Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Communications/Telecommunication
- Solid understanding of Wi-max/LTE network architecture, protocols and related technologies.
- Knowledge of Cisco switches & routers, basic troubleshooting skills & IP sub netting skills
- Knowledge of Microwave equipment & it’s working principles
- Strong knowledge in fundamental principles of Radio frequency particularly LTE & wi-max RAN
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to coordinate with vendors & internal customers
