Medication Access Coordinator

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medication Access Coordinator to support healthcare providers and clinics in ensuring timely patient access to prescribed medications. This role is responsible for communicating prescription-related matters, coordinating approvals for medication alternatives when prescribed brands are unavailable, and working closely with pharmacists and provider offices to ensure timely, accurate fulfillment of prescriptions while maintaining regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of US healthcare processes, and experience coordinating between clinical and administrative stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1-Communicate with physicians, clinics, and healthcare staff regarding prescribed medications
2-Coordinate prior authorizations, coverage determinations, and appeals with insurance payers
3-Verify patient benefits, copays, and formulary coverage
Liaise with pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, and drug manufacturers
4-Assist providers in identifying appropriate medication options based on coverage and access
5-Support enrollment in patient assistance and copay assistance programs
Track and document cases accurately in billing or EHR systems
6-Ensure timely follow-up to prevent delays in patient treatment
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and US healthcare regulations

Required Qualifications:

>Experience in US healthcare, medical billing, revenue cycle, or pharmacy-related roles
>Strong verbal and written communication skills
>Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders efficiently
>Proficiency with healthcare systems, EMRs, or billing software
