Medical Transcriptionist

Description:

Responsibilities:

· Listen to audio recordings from physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

· Transcribe and edit medical reports, including patient histories, physical examinations, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.

· Correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar while preserving the meaning of the original dictation.

· Verify the consistency and accuracy of medical terminology and drug names.

· Ensure all transcribed documents comply with HIPAA and patient confidentiality regulations.

· Maintain accurate and organized records of transcriptions.

· Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations or discrepancies.

· Follow up on missing or conflicting information to ensure report accuracy.

Requirements:

· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.

· Proficiency in medical transcription software

· Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation standards.

· Excellent typing speed and accuracy.

· Strong listening and comprehension skills.
