Medical Coder

Description:

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Coder role based in Lahore. The Medical Coder will review clinical documentation and accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes according to established guidelines and payer requirements. The role includes validating coded data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and collaborating with billing and clinical teams to resolve coding-related queries. The Medical Coder will help optimize claim submissions, reduce denials, and support revenue cycle integrity by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and regulations. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining secure records, participating in quality audits, and contributing to process improvements within the medical billing function.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated Medical Coding and Coding Experience, with strong proficiency in assigning accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Background in Health Information Management, including understanding of healthcare documentation, billing workflows, and data integrity.
• Solid grasp of Medical Terminology to interpret clinical notes and ensure correct code selection.
• Relevant certification such as RHIT or equivalent credential in health information or medical coding is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and standard coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS).
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work with confidential information responsibly.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical, billing, and IT teams.
• Prior experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare BPO environments is an advantage.
