Medical Billing Specialist

Description:

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Billing Specialist role based in Lahore. The Medical Billing Specialist will handle end-to-end billing processes, including claim creation, submission, and follow-up with payers for timely reimbursements. The role involves verifying patient insurance coverage, reviewing clinical documentation for accurate coding, and applying ICD-10 codes in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines. Daily responsibilities include working denials and rejections, resolving billing issues, communicating with insurance companies and internal teams, and updating billing systems with accurate information. The specialist will also monitor aging reports, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare and commercial payer rules, and contribute to process improvements that support revenue cycle performance.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation and billing information.
• Proficiency in medical coding concepts, including ICD-10, with the ability to apply correct codes for claims processing.
• Hands-on experience with insurance processes, including commercial payers and Medicare guidelines and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve denials and rejections, including root-cause identification and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with practice management or billing software and basic knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle workflows.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with payers, clients, and internal teams.
• Ability to work on-site in Lahore, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in US medical billing or RCM is preferred; training or certification in medical billing/coding is an advantage.
