Description:
Pakistan Solar Association (PSA) is seeking a seasoned Policy & Government Relations professional to lead its advocacy, regulatory engagement, and policy development initiatives. This role is central to strengthening PSA’s influence with key government bodies and ensuring the growth of sustainable, industry-aligned solar energy policies in Pakistan.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in Pakistan’s power and renewable energy ecosystem, strong policy drafting skills, and the confidence to represent PSA at senior regulatory and government forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PSA’s policy, regulatory, and government relations strategy at national and provincial levels.
- Represent PSA in high-level meetings with NEPRA, AEDB, FBR, DISCOs, and relevant ministries.
- Draft and submit policy briefs, position papers, regulatory responses, and formal submissions.
- Monitor developments in energy sector reforms, solar policies, and regulatory frameworks, assessing their impact on the solar industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with PSA internal teams and member companies to align advocacy priorities.
- Prepare analytical reports, briefs, and updates for PSA leadership and members.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Energy Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of proven experience in:
- Government Relations
- Policy Advocacy
- Regulatory Affairs
- (Mandatory: Experience within Power, Renewable Energy, or Solar Sector in Pakistan)
Mandatory Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Pakistan’s energy regulatory and policy landscape, including:
- NEPRA
- AEDB
- FBR
- DISCOs’ operational and regulatory structures
Core Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory data and convert it into clear, strategic insights
