Lead Devops Engineer

The Head of DevOps will be responsible for collaborating with software developers, system operators, and other engineering team members to manage code releases. Head of DevOps will be working to cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing, and operations teams, and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan, and test.

 

You should be able :

 

· Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure

· Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers

· Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

· Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results

· Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats

· Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’

· Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

· Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions

· Utilize senior level debugging and troubleshooting skills on a regular basis

· Deploy, configure, and use monitoring tools to find and diagnose problems on test and productions systems; design and implement automation for issue resolution

· Define and manage the best practices for staff embedded into projects; and migration of projects to said best practices

 

 

Technical expertise:

· Code Versioning control: GitHub. GitLab , Beanstalk, PerForce, JIRA, Slack.

· Continuous Integration servers : Jenkins,

· Configuration management : CFEngine, Ansible, CHEF enterprise version, Octopus, TeamCity

· Deployment automation : AWS Code deploy, Jenkins etc.

· Containers : Kubernetes and Dockers

· Infrastructure Orchestration : Jenkins, Docker

· Monitoring and analytics

· Testing and Cloud Quality tools

· Network protocols
