Description:
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Junior Associate to support the development and implementation of climate-friendly initiatives within our programs. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a background or strong interest in environmental sustainability, rural development, or microfinance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and roll-out of green microfinance products (e.g., clean energy loans, climate-resilient agriculture finance)
- Assist in conducting field research, needs assessments, and baseline surveys on climate-related issues affecting clients
- Collaborate with field staff and partners to promote awareness of climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Help track and document environmental impact metrics across projects
- Contribute to proposal writing, donor reporting, and internal presentations
- Coordinate workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns on climate-resilient practices
- Stay informed on policy developments, technologies, and best practices in climate finance and sustainable development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Economics, or related field
- 0–2 years of relevant work/internship experience in sustainability, microfinance, or development sector
- Strong interest in climate change, social impact, and inclusive finance
- Good communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel to rural areas for fieldwork
- Familiarity with data collection tools, basic research, and MS Office
