Description:
Clean label is not an excuse for bland food. Your job is to prove that. Our current menu is pasta-focused — and we need someone who knows pasta deeply: sauces, textures, proteins, hidden vegetables, age-appropriate builds. You will work within our non-negotiable ingredient framework and use every tool available — proper spice blooming, caramelisation, acid finishing, fat layering, roasting technique, herb and aroma work — to build flavour that makes a child genuinely excited to eat. If your instinct when flavour is flat is to reach for a stock cube, chicken powder, or extra salt — this is not the role for you.
What you will own
· Flavour development & aroma — every meal must smell and taste like something real when opened and heated
· Pasta expertise — sauces, textures, proteins, and hidden vegetable builds that work for children aged 1–12
· Texture by age band — toddler to tween, each meal designed for how it cooks, cools, packs, and reheats
· Recipe standardisation — gram-level SOPs that any trained cook can replicate exactly, every time
· Kitchen team training & quality control — your standard becomes the team's standard, batch after batch
· Menu expansion — as NumNumm grows beyond pasta, you grow the menu with us.
You must have
· 7+ years professional kitchen experience — with strong expertise in pasta, sauces, and European-style cooking · Proven ability to build deep flavour without artificial enhancers or shortcuts · Experience developing recipes that are consistent, scalable, and team-replicable · Ability to write precise SOPs and train a kitchen team to follow them · Genuine interest in children's food — this is not just cooking, this is nutrition with a purpose
