Fiber Operations Manager

Description:

We are currently hiring an experienced and dynamic Manager – Fiber Operations to lead and optimize the operations and maintenance of our critical fiber optic network infrastructure in Lahore. This is a high-impact, full-time leadership role focused on ensuring the resilience, efficiency, and expansion of GPON, Metro, and Carrier Networks.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of fiber networks, proven project leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to network continuity and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of GPON, Metro, Carrier, and Metro Access networks

• Lead rehabilitation and upgradation projects for Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) infrastructure

• Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency rerouting and ring completion to reduce outages

• Address low power issues and enhance Customer Happiness Index (CHI)

• Arrange fiber pairs for corporate clients, Ufone, transport, and carrier services

• Coordinate with government authorities to ensure network protection

• Prepare and submit p-deposit bills for damaged fiber routes

• Supervise aerial fiber replacement to mitigate cable cuts

• Generate detailed Preventive Maintenance Reports (PMRs), cut, and analysis reports

• Conduct and oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities

• Update and manage GIS/KMZ files for all fiber routes and expansions

• Monitor, manage, and replenish inventory and tools to ensure operational readiness

• Drive improvement in Service Quality Indicators (SQIs) by resolving audit observations

• Conduct Pre-Acceptance Testing (PAT) of new Network Elements (NEs) prior to deployment

• Lead technical training programs, enforce SOPs, and ensure field team compliance

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum of 5–6 years of experience in fiber operations and telecom network management

• Strong field coordination and team leadership abilities

• Technically proficient in GPON, Metro, and Carrier network architectures

• Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills

• Proven track record of enhancing network uptime and reducing service disruptions
