Employee Relations Specialist

 

Description:

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships between employees and the organization. They are responsible for handling employee relations matters, resolving conflicts, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including but not limited to grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
  2. Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations, or conflicts, ensuring impartiality, confidentiality, and thoroughness throughout the process.
  3. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including interpretation of policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  4. Develop and implement employee relations strategies, initiatives, and programs to promote a positive work environment and enhance employee engagement.
  5. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to address systemic issues and develop proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases, investigations, and outcomes.
  7. Analyze trends and metrics related to employee relations to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate interventions.
  8. Stay abreast of relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  9. Conduct training sessions or workshops for managers and employees on topics related to conflict resolution, communication skills, and employee relations.
  10. Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in employee relations, HR, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
