Description:
We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead our dispatch team, optimize driver routing, and ensure efficient, profitable fleet operations. You will manage daily dispatch activities, ensure strict DOT compliance, and maintain high standards for driver retention and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilites
- Team Leadership: Manage, schedule, and train the dispatch team; set KPIs (on-time delivery, driver retention, rate-per-mile).
- Fleet Optimization: Direct load assignment and route planning using TMS/GPS to maximize revenue and reduce deadhead miles.
- Driver Management: Act as the main escalation point for drivers, handling operational issues, route adjustments, and schedule delays.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and ELD compliance across the fleet.
- Reporting: Track key metrics including cost-per-mile, fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and weekly gross revenue.
Qualification & Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in trucking dispatch, with at least 1–2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Software: Hands-on experience with DAT, Truck Stop, 123 Load board etc.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of DOT/FMCSA rules, HOS logs, and equipment types.
- Skills: Strong leadership, fast-paced problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
