Design Manager

Description:

The Design Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of design activities across engineering disciplines. The position ensures that all design outputs meet technical specifications, contractual requirements, and client expectations, while aligning with project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

•          Project Leadership

•          Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams (architectural, structural, MEP, HVAC, ID).

•          Translate client requirements and contractual obligations into actionable design deliverables.

•          Ensure design compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory approvals.

•          Design Coordination

•          Oversee design development from concept to detailed engineering.

•          Conduct design reviews and ensure traceability of comments and revisions.

•          Maintain quality assurance processes and technical documentation standards.

•          Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, and internal teams.

•          Present design proposals, reports, and technical submissions.

•          Identify design risks and propose mitigation strategies.

•          Team Development

•          Mentor junior engineers and designers.

•          Promote continuous improvement and innovation in design practices.

•          Foster collaboration across disciplines to achieve integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

•          Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural).

•          10+ years of experience in engineering consultancy or construction design management.

•          Strong knowledge of project controls, risk registers, procurement tracking, and schedule integration.

•          Excellent communication skills for client-facing documentation and consultant-level reporting.
