Description:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, technical and cost proposals, and bid documents for construction projects within specified deadlines.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with U.S.-based vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate pricing, availability, and technical requirements.
- Develop and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation); identify, contact, and pre-qualify vendors and subcontractors in project regions to obtain competitive pricing and ensure scope alignment.
- Interpret construction drawings and technical specifications to perform quantity take-offs, prepare bills of quantities, and develop detailed cost estimates.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations, ensuring compliance with project requirements; lead price negotiations and prepare purchase orders accordingly.
- Coordinate with site project managers to ensure the distribution of relevant construction documentation and support the preparation of lookahead and monthly schedules.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including construction submittals, Construction Quality Control (CQC) reports, Health & Safety Plans, and submittal logs.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with subcontractors and clients, ensuring continuous collaboration and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate detailed cost breakdowns from estimates, and analyze labor, materials, equipment, and time requirements to support effective project planning and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project estimation, preferably within the U.S. construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, methods, and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, including their integration in construction projects.
