Description:
We’re hiring a hands-on Computer Operator who can produce accurate English and Urdu documents, manage bookkeeping tasks, and handle income tax and sales tax return preparation and follow-ups with relevant authorities.
What you’ll do
- Compose, format and proofread letters, notices, invoices and official documents in English and Urdu.
- Enter and maintain financial data: sales, purchases, receipts, payments, ledgers and journals.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly sales tax and income tax return drafts; gather supporting schedules and attachments.
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors and service providers to submit returns, respond to notices, and track refunds or liabilities.
- Perform bank reconciliations and basic account reconciliations.
- Use accounting software and MS Excel to generate reports (trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, VAT/Sales tax reports).
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing of accounts, tax records and correspondence.
- Support senior accountants with ad-hoc reporting and document requests.
Minimum requirements
- 1–4 years experience in a similar role (accounts + computer/data work).
- Strong ability to compose formal documents in both English and Urdu (typing and formatting).
- Practical knowledge of income tax and sales/VAT filing processes and documentation.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel strong), and at least one accounting package (Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Accurate typing and strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow up with external authorities.
- Minimum education: Intermediate with commerce background OR Diploma in Computer/Accounts; relevant certifications a plus.
