Chinese Chef

Description:

This is a full-time, on-site Chinese Chef role based in Lahore. The Chinese Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning according to restaurant standards. Daily tasks include managing mise en place, monitoring ingredient quality, coordinating with kitchen staff, and maintaining high levels of hygiene and food safety. The role also involves contributing to menu refinement, managing cooking times during peak hours, and collaborating with the Head Chef and management to improve kitchen efficiency and guest satisfaction. The chef is expected to follow standard operating procedures, minimize food waste, and support training of junior kitchen team members.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Chinese cuisine, including wok cooking, stir-frying, steaming, and preparation of sauces and stocks.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and kitchen hygiene practices, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Experience in high-volume restaurant operations, including time management, coordination with kitchen staff, and handling busy service periods.
• Ability to follow and standardize recipes while maintaining quality and consistency, and openness to contributing new dish ideas.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience as a Chinese Chef or in a similar role in a professional restaurant kitchen is strongly preferred.
• Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage, particularly with a focus on Asian or Chinese cuisine.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
