Description:

Key Skills

Extrusion process setup & control To fine-tune parameters and prevent jacket defects like cracking or burn marks

Polymer material knowledge (PE, HDPE)

To select the right materials and troubleshoot bonding, brittleness, etc.

Cable structure and mechanical testing To validate tensile strength, bend radius, jacket adhesion, etc.

Quality control systems (ISO, Six Sigma)

To set up standardized QA to prevent batch-wise issues

Tooling and die design knowledge To optimize die design for uniform jacket thickness and proper melt flow

Hands-on with extrusion machinery

To directly handle calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Familiarity with cable standards (e.g., ITU-T, IEC)

To ensure our products meet telecom and industry specs

 

Bonus Skills

Experience with co-extrusion (PE + HDPE) lines

Knowledge of UV stabilization and additive usage

Familiarity with fiber optic cable standards (e.g., G.652D, G.657A1)

Proficiency with production monitoring systems and automated quality inspection tools

Extrusion Process & Materials Engineer

Responsible for overseeing the fiber optic cable jacket extrusion process, optimizing material selection (PE, HDPE, additives), and setting precise process parameters to prevent outer jacket defects. Ensures product quality through standardized testing, manages material performance analysis, and leads continuous process improvement efforts.
