Business Manager

Better Recruitment is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Business Manager – Chemicals Trading on behalf of a prestigious client operating in the petrochemical trading sector of Pakistan. This is a senior leadership role based in either Lahore or Karachi, designed for a dynamic professional with deep expertise in the chemicals and petrochemicals trading industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the entire trading lifecycle, including market strategy, sourcing, logistics, and sales, while maintaining full P&L ownership of the division. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires extensive industry connections, analytical strength, commercial intelligence, and a strong leadership mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategically lead and execute trading operations for petrochemical products across Pakistan

• Manage the entire trading lifecycle – from sourcing, procurement, and logistics to final sales and client servicing

• Own and drive the P&L for the chemical trading division, ensuring profitability and long-term sustainability

• Establish, nurture, and expand business relationships with both local and international suppliers and customers

• Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor movements, and pricing strategies to maintain competitive advantage

• Evaluate and mitigate risks including credit, market volatility, and operational execution

• Drive revenue growth by penetrating new customer segments and geographic regions

• Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing trading and sales team

Requirements:

• Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in chemicals/petrochemical trading in the Pakistani market – mandatory

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage trading cycles and business profitability

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

• Strong industry network across the petrochemical trading landscape

• Exceptional skills in negotiation, communication, strategic analysis, and leadership

• Ability to make data-driven decisions, manage complexity, and lead business transformations
