Description:
We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with strong expertise in Upwork account management, lead generation, and project acquisition. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of winning projects, generating revenue, and scaling Upwork accounts through strategic business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow Upwork accounts from setup to scaling.
- Identify high-potential job opportunities and submit winning proposals.
- Write customized and persuasive proposals that increase client response and conversion rates.
- Generate qualified leads and convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Handle client communication, negotiations, meetings, requirement gathering, and follow-ups.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure consistent project acquisition.
- Achieve monthly project acquisition and revenue targets.
- Optimize Upwork profiles to improve visibility, ranking, and conversion rates.
- Manage Connects strategically and implement profile-boosting techniques.
- Monitor and improve account performance metrics, including JSS, profile ranking, and badges.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Develop and implement growth strategies to scale Upwork accounts and increase revenue.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients to secure repeat business.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project onboarding and client satisfaction.
- Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while ensuring target achievement.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in Upwork Business Development.
- Demonstrated success in winning projects and achieving monthly sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of Upwork account management, profile optimization, and growth strategies.
- Deep understanding of Upwork algorithms, profile ranking factors, JSS, badges, and account performance metrics.
- Proven expertise in lead generation, client acquisition, and deal closing.
- Excellent proposal writing skills with a strong conversion-focused approach.
- Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
