Business Development Executive

 

Description:

We are seeking a sharp and motivated Business Development Executive with a strong command of freelancing platforms(Especially Upwork) and a strategic approach to client acquisition, while also contributing to our broader business growth strategies. This role encompasses both platform-based client acquisition and traditional business development activities to expand our client portfolio and market presence.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Research and identify qualified project opportunities on Upwork and other prominent freelancing platforms that match our technical capabilities and strategic goals
  • Develop and deliver customized, persuasive proposals tailored to each client's specific requirements and business challenges
  • Establish professional communication with potential clients through platform messaging and discovery calls to thoroughly understand project requirements and establish credibility
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and industry event participation
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients through both traditional outreach and digital channels
  • Develop strategic partnerships with complimentary service providers to create referral networks
  • Create compelling business cases and presentations to pitch our services to prospective clients
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business development strategies
  • Collaborate with our technical team to accurately scope projects and ensure seamless client onboarding
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly performance reports to senior management

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in business development, with particular emphasis on freelancing platforms like Upwork
  • Verifiable track record of generating quality leads and successfully closing projects in software development or digital services
  • Experience with traditional business development activities including networking, partnership building, and direct client outreach
  • Superior written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Working knowledge of software development services, including web and mobile application development, AI solutions, and UI/UX design principles
  • Proficiency in proposal writing techniques, CRM systems, and business development tools
  • Understanding of freelancing platform optimization strategies and ranking factors
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and client relationship management capabilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
