Coastal Research builds insurance policy limit research platforms for personal injury law firms in the US. Our Islamabad team owns the backend systems and client portals behind our products.
We're looking for a Backend Developer to build and maintain the APIs and services that power them.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain backend applications in Node.js and Express
- Design and ship RESTful APIs for our web platforms and third-party integrations
- Design PostgreSQL schemas that stay clean and fast as the data grows
- Write and manage database migrations, and keep data integrity intact
- Work day to day with Prisma ORM and Prisma Client
- Write secure, well-structured business logic and services
- Deploy and run applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
- Monitor deployments, dig into production issues, and improve reliability and performance
- Work alongside frontend and integrations engineers to ship complete features
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of professional backend development experience
- Strong Node.js and Express
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
- Real PostgreSQL experience, including relational schema design
- Hands-on Prisma ORM and Prisma Client
- Experience writing and managing database migrations
- Working knowledge of AWS EC2, RDS, and S3
- Experience setting up CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Comfortable with Git, deployment workflows, and backend security fundamentals
