Description:

The Assistant Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing and analyzing patient medical records and documentation to assign appropriate US medical codes. This role involves translating healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into standardized coding for billing and recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements, and collaborating with healthcare staff to clarify diagnoses and resolve discrepancies.

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT)
• Ability to identify documentation gaps and ensure accuracy
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and training skills
• Ability to ensure coding compliance and support the audit
• Well-informed of coding guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory changes
