Description:
You will be working with Inland Manager to set the strategic direction for Vendor Management. Responsible to manage day to day performance of vendors, to make sure that on time delivery, capacity and split of volumes is safeguarded as well as ad hoc capacity is secured. Develop a mechanism of continuous improvement and play a key role in Maersk’s transformation journey through adoption of new ways of working with an emphasis on digital-driven habits.
Job Responsibilities
Drive Vendor Management functional outcomes
- Monitor service quality of vendors across customers and modes (e.g. Truck, Rail) and act on non-compliance to defined product or customer standards
- Ensure vendor management provides speedy issue resolution with CX & Delivery teams through case management.
- Work with internal stakeholders to fine-tune all facets of running Area Vendor management: Safety & Resilience (HSSE), Control (Finance), Cost (Procurement), Product Standardization (Product / Sales), and Process Efficiency (CI)
Develop and sustain a capable Vendor Base
- Build a vendor base with a strong orientation towards delivering superior customer outcomes though efficient high quality delivery networks
- Ensure that transporters are equipped to operate in line with global policies, safety standards and local regulations (incl. training, coaching, development)
- Develop and maintain business continuity plans for processes deemed critical to customer delivery
Drive Cost to Serve focus
- Work consistently to reduce cost to serve to remain competitive on both quality and cost in changing market conditions
- Actively monitor and manage volume trajectory of customer base; work with CX and Sales to reduce churn and expedite new and additional business conversion
- Constantly feed timely market and customer information back to Organization

- Ensure vendor management capabilities are in place
