Application Support Engineer

Aksa SDS is seeking a skilled and proactive Application Support Engineer for its onsite office in Islamabad. The role demands a tech-savvy individual with a strong background in IT operations and experience in OpenShift, IBM Cloud Pak, and monitoring tools. This position involves ensuring high availability and performance of core applications while supporting incident resolution and maintaining system health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain applications hosted on OpenShift and IBM Cloud Pak, including pod troubleshooting and cluster health checks.

• Deliver L2 operational support for core applications, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues; resolve incidents efficiently.

• Identify recurring issues and escalate to developers, DevOps, and business teams.

• Collaborate with L1 and L3 teams for resolution of complex problems.

• Optimize and manage monitoring tools like the ELK Stack and AppDynamics.

• Troubleshoot legacy apps on RHEL servers using log monitoring and service-level health checks.

• Use AppDynamics for business transaction analysis and create performance dashboards.

• Monitor query performance in MongoDB, Oracle, and MySQL, and run basic queries for analysis.

• Understand API flows, including the use of API gateways, message queues (IBM MQ, RabbitMQ), event streaming platforms (Kafka), and caching tools (DataGrid, Redis).

• Apply knowledge of FinTech flows, including transaction types, ecosystems, and wallet systems.

• Automate tasks using Shell, Ansible, or Python to enhance operational workflows.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotations.

• Maintain strong practices in incident management, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab), Linux server administration, and security.

• Leverage hands-on experience with AppDynamics, ELK, MongoDB, MySQL, and IBM DB2.

• Preferably hold certifications in Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud, MongoDB, or Redis.

Qualification:
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
