Actuarial Intern

iBOS is seeking motivated Actuarial Interns to join their team in Karachi. This internship is ideal for candidates pursuing or holding a BS/MS degree in Actuarial and Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, or Data Analytics who want to gain hands-on experience in actuarial practices and risk assessment.

The role involves supporting actuarial projects with a focus on IFRS 17 standards, End of Service Benefits (EOSB), and advanced data handling using Excel. Interns will work closely with senior actuaries, gaining valuable exposure to industry-standard processes and real-world applications within the insurance and financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in understanding and applying IFRS 17 insurance contract standards in actuarial calculations and reporting.

• Support analysis related to End of Service Benefits (EOSB) and related actuarial valuations.

• Perform data manipulation, analysis, and reporting tasks using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data functions.

• Collaborate with team members on actuarial modeling and risk assessment projects.

• Learn and adhere to industry best practices under supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or completed a BS/MS degree in Actuarial and Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, or Data Analytics.

• Strong knowledge or familiarity with IFRS 17 standards and actuarial principles related to insurance contracts.

• Basic understanding of End of Service Benefits (EOSB) concepts.

• High proficiency in Excel, comfortable working with complex formulas and data functions.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Willingness to learn and work on-site in Karachi.
