Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced, results-driven, and commercially aware Accounts Manager with 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in import/export accounting, taxation, retail accounting operations, financial controls, and management reporting.
(This role is not suitable for entry-level accountants or candidates whose experience is limited to bookkeeping or routine voucher entries. We are looking for a finance professional who has managed substantial transaction volumes, handled complex financial operations, worked with large turnovers, and can independently lead the Accounts Department.)
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, KPIs, dashboards, and management accounts.
- Monitor profitability, cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage all taxation matters including Sales Tax, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Advance Tax, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with FBR regulations and all applicable tax laws.
- Handle tax audits, notices, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities while maintaining full compliance.
Import & Export Accounting
- Manage complete accounting treatment for import and export transactions.
- Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), bank contracts, shipping documents, duties, customs-related accounting, and landed cost calculations.
- Reconcile supplier accounts, freight charges, customs duties, and clearing agent transactions.
- Monitor foreign currency transactions and exchange gain/loss adjustments.
- Coordinate with banks, shipping agents, and customs clearing agents.
Retail Finance & Inventory Control
- Manage retail accounting operations across multiple branches or outlets.
- Monitor daily sales reconciliation and cash controls.
- Ensure inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and shrinkage analysis.
- Analyze gross margins and retail profitability.
- Establish strong controls to prevent inventory and cash leakage.
Internal Controls & Audit
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
- Identify operational risks and recommend corrective measures.
- Strengthen financial governance and accountability across departments.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Monitor vendor payments and customer collections.
- Manage aging reports and improve cash recovery cycles.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of customer and supplier accounts.
- Control credit limits and customer exposure.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise accounting staff.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor departmental performance.
Mandatory Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory accounting role.
- Proven experience handling large transaction volumes and significant business turnovers.
- Strong exposure to import/export accounting and international trade transactions.
- Extensive taxation experience includes compliance, audits, and tax planning.
- Experience in retail accounting and inventory-intensive environments is mandatory.
