I'm Abdus Samad Khan, and I run a growing 3D printing service focused on designing 3d printed products. We are dedicated to quality and precision, and to meet increasing demand, we're looking to hire a talented 3D Modeler specializing in hard-surface modeling.
We're looking for a Freelance 3D Modeler who can:
- Create high-quality, detailed, and 3D printable hard-surface models based on client briefs, sketches, 2D drawings, or existing concepts.
- Design models optimized for various 3D printing technologies (e.g., FDM, SLA/Resin – Training will be provided), with a strong emphasis on designs suitable for hard-surface output.
- Ensure models are manifold, watertight, and free of errors that would hinder successful printing. Your designs must be inherently optimized for 3D printing.(Training will be provided)
- Iterate on designs based on feedback to achieve desired outcomes.
- Work efficiently and communicate clearly throughout the project lifecycle.
- Repair or modify existing STL or 3D model files for better printability.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a 3D Modeler with a strong portfolio showcasing your hard-surface modeling work (this is essential!).
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software suited for hard-surface design (e.g.,3dmax, Maya, Zbrush,Blender (with hard-surface workflows).
- Solid understanding of 3D printing processes, limitations, and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles, especially as they apply to hard-surface objects.(training will be provided)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Reliable and responsive.
Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points!):
- Experience with specific types of hard-surface modeling (e.g., mechanical parts, product design, props, enclosures).
- Knowledge of slicing software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, Lychee).(training will be provided)
